/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Residents in Denmark set a new recycling record in July 2026. They returned 247 million bottles and cans in one month. That is a 10 percent increase from July 2025. Warm summer weather helped drive the high numbers. Dansk Retursystem reported the official figures.
In Denmark, the bottle deposit recycling system is called Pant. You pay a small extra deposit when buying drinks in cans or bottles. You get this money back when you return the empty containers. You can return them at machines inside most supermarkets. You can also use large return stations in the city.
Recycling is an easy way to save money on daily groceries. The deposit amount appears as Pant A, B, or C on the label. Returning your empty containers gives you a voucher for store credit. You can also get cash back at the register. Keeping your Pant items helps lower your regular living costs.
