/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Electricity costs dropped for Copenhagen residents in July. Data from energy supplier Norlys shows raw power prices fell by up to seven percent from June. In Eastern Denmark, the pure price dropped from 0.81 DKK to 0.77 DKK per kilowatt-hour before taxes and fees.
Electricity bills in Denmark contain three main parts. These are the raw power price, grid fees, and state taxes. The raw price is only one part of the total cost. Transport fees and state taxes still make up a large portion of your monthly bill.
The price drop offers small relief for local households and small businesses. Restaurants, Asian grocery stores, and offices in Copenhagen use energy for cooling and refrigeration during the summer months.
Residents can check their energy contracts to see if they pay fixed or hourly spot prices. Running washing machines or heavy equipment during off-peak hours can help lower monthly costs further.
