/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /More than half of Denmark's public air-raid shelters are currently unfit for emergency use. A national inspection found serious operational failures in hundreds of concrete shelters across the country.
Inspectors checked 1,694 public concrete shelters throughout Denmark. Only 831 shelters passed the basic emergency standards. That equals just 49 percent of the total inspected sites.
Passing shelters needed intact structures and working ventilation systems. They also required clean rooms without standing water.
The Danish government announced a second inspection phase. This next phase will inspect private and public reinforced shelters.
This information was reported by CPH Post. Local municipal safety infrastructure remains a key point for residents across Denmark.
