Record number of civilian heart runners registered in Denmark
More than 61,000 volunteer heart runners are now active across Denmark to assist during cardiac emergencies.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark now has 61,540 active volunteer heart runners ready to help during cardiac arrests. This means 1.3 percent of adults can perform CPR or use a defibrillator.
The data comes from a report by TrygFonden for the first half of 2026. When someone reports a cardiac arrest, an app alerts the 20 nearest heart runners. These volunteers can provide quick aid in emergency situations.
This system provides fast assistance for residents across Denmark. The figures were reported by The Copenhagen Post.
