Swedish Police Force TikTok to Remove Gang Ads Targeting Children

Swedish police now order tech companies to remove gang recruitment ads targeting children. This new power gives parents in Sweden stronger protection against youth crime networks.

Police have sent around 25 removal demands over the past month. All 25 requests went directly to the social media platform TikTok. TikTok complied and took down all the flagged posts.

Authorities told Sveriges Radio News that these ads recruit kids for illegal tasks. Children were asked to move drugs, hide firearms, or commit violent crimes.

Gangs often use popular social media apps to reach young people in Sweden. The new enforcement tools help police block these recruitment efforts much faster.
