Toxic caterpillar moth found on Sweden's south coast
A moth with toxic caterpillars appeared in southern Sweden for the first time in 12 years.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /A toxic moth species has returned to southern Sweden. It was spotted along the south coast. Its caterpillars can cause severe allergic reactions. Local newspaper HD-Sydsvenskan first reported the discovery. Sveriges Radio also confirmed the sighting.
People in Sweden call this insect the larva from hell. The caterpillar has toxic hairs that irritate human skin and eyes. Touching them can cause rash or breathing issues. Only one moth specimen was found this time. This is the first sighting in Sweden in 12 years.
Experts monitor the area to see if more insects appear. Residents enjoying the outdoors along the southern coast should remain aware.
